A Mumbai court grants Salman Khan relief in his slander lawsuit against Abhinav Kashyap.

In a defamation lawsuit brought by Khan about a number of podcasts and interviews in which Kashyap reportedly made disparaging remarks about the actor and his family, the interim order was issued.
Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap and YouTube presenters of Bollywood Thikana were prohibited by the City Civil Court in Mumbai on Friday from making or disseminating disparaging remarks about Bollywood actor Khan and his family [Salman Khan v. Abhinav Kashyap & Ors.].
In a defamation lawsuit brought by Khan about a number of podcasts and interviews in which Kashyap reportedly made disparaging remarks about the actor and his family, the interim order was issued.
Interviews were posted on YouTube and other social media sites by the channel, which is owned by Komal Mehru and presented by Khushboo Hazare.
The remarks that Khan reported were "defamatory, derogatory, abusive and insulting in nature and harmful to the reputation of the plaintiff," according to Justice PG Bhosale.
According to the Court, these comments damaged Khan's reputation with the general public.
As a result, it denied Kashyap's claim of free speech protection.
Every person has the right to have their privacy and reputation preserved. The Court declared, "We cannot accept the argument that Kashyap has a right to freedom of speech and expression."
As a result, the Court prohibited Kashyap and the hosts from creating, posting, or disseminating any slanderous or defamatory material about Khan or his family on social media.
The Court stated that "nobody can make and nobody should make defamatory statements against the family of anybody" when discussing the boundaries of free speech.
Salman Khan was represented by attorneys PD Gandhy, Parag Khandhar, Chandrima Mitra, Tapan Radkar, and Zara Dhanbhoora, who were briefed by the legal firm DSK Legal.
Kashyap, Mehru, and Hazare were represented by attorneys Parth Jain, Ansh Agal, Aditi Pareek, and Pranali Mitbhaokar, who were briefed by Jain Law Partners LLP.
Google LLC was represented by attorneys Amishí Sodani and Charu Shukla.
Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas briefed advocates Rishabh Jaisani, Richa Bharti, and Abhishek Mookherjee on behalf of Meta Inc.
