Wangchuk's wife Gitanjali reported that the detention order has been obtained after seeing Wangchuk with his lawyer Ritam Khare.
As his legal team gets ready to contest a detention order against him, Ladakhi entrepreneur and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, said on Wednesday that her husband is still determined to fight the legal process.

Following a meeting with Wangchuk and his attorney, Ritam Khare, Gitanjali said that although the arrest order has been issued, Wangchuk is more dedicated to his cause than before.
"We will contest the detention order that we received. He has an unflinching spirit. His dedication is unwavering! He is still resilient! He expresses his gratitude to everyone for their solidarity and support," she wrote on X.
The Supreme Court earlier Monday asked the Union Territory of Ladakh and the Center to respond to a writ suit that Gitanjali had filed, contesting his incarceration under the National Security Act and calling for his immediate release.
However, a bench consisting of Justices Aravind Kumar and N V Anjaria declined to issue a decision regarding her request to be given the reasons for her imprisonment and scheduled a hearing for October 14.
Two days after violent protests calling for statehood and Ladakh's inclusion in the Sixth Schedule left four people dead and ninety injured on Union territory, Wangchuk was arrested on September 26 under the strict National Security Act (NSA). He was charged by the authorities with inciting the violence.
The NSA gives the federal government and state governments the authority to hold people in custody in order to stop them from engaging in a way that would be "prejudicial to the defense of India." Although it may be canceled earlier, the maximum imprisonment time is twelve months.
Wangchuk is being held in Rajasthan's Jodhpur jail.
The highest court ordered the authorities to provide Wangchuk with the medical care that was allowed by the jail regulations.
Angmo also questioned the choice to use the NSA against Wangchuk, which permits detention without trial for up to 12 months, in her prior petition, which was submitted through senior attorney Vivek Tankha and attorney Sarvam Ritam Khare.
