The Manipur High Court's Chief Justice is Justice M Sundar.

A Supreme Court Collegium proposal from September 11 that supported Justice Sundar for the position has been approved by the central government.
On September 13, Justice M. Sundar was named the next Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court by the Central government.
After Justice Kempaiah Somashekar, the current Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, retires on September 14, 2025, he will take over the position.
At the moment, Justice Sundar is the Madras High Court's second-most senior judge.
He was appointed Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court after Justice Sundar was recommended for the position by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 11.
By doing this, he will become the next in a long series of Madras High Court justices to lead the Manipur High Court, including Justices D Krishna Kumar, MV Muralidharan, and Ramalingam Sudhakar.
Justice Sundar, who was born in Chennai on July 19, 1966, completed the first five-year integrated law program at Madras Law College, where he earned his legal degree. After becoming an attorney in 1989, he handled a variety of civil cases mostly before the Madras High Court.
He was promoted to the position of permanent judge of the Madras High Court in October 2016. Justice Sundar has written a number of important rulings throughout the years.
