The NLUD Center for Law and Urban Development is now accepting blog posts.

The blog is a place to share ideas and thoughts about how law and urban growth affect each other.
The Centre for Law and Urban Development at the National Law University of Delhi (NLU Delhi) is looking for original blog posts from academics, lawyers, policymakers, and students that look at current problems where law, policy, and urban development meet.
Any topic that has to do with how law affects urban growth should be considered for submission. Submissions should include deep analysis, critical perspectives, and new ways to solve problems.
Themes: Real Estate and Housing Policy: Looking at how laws, redevelopment, and government benefits affect affordable housing and living in cities with other people.
Urban Taxation and City Finance: Looking at how property taxes work,
Fair urban growth is being driven by development benefits, infrastructure levies, and changes to how people must follow the rules.
Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Regulation: Looking at how policy frameworks, planning for health infrastructure, and regulatory processes affect people's ability to get medical care and new medicines in cities.
In this section, we'll look at how insolvency law, banking rules, SEBI frameworks, REIT methods, and other types of financing affect real estate and infrastructure projects in cities in India.
Rethinking PPP models through effective risk-sharing, public interest safeguards, and policy innovations for resilient city projects is what Collaborative Models for Urban Infrastructure is all about.
Smart Cities & Digital Infrastructure – Unpacking the economic and legal
frameworks governing data, IoT, and connectivity in the next generation of urban growth.
Green & Sustainable Cities – Analysing laws and incentives for green buildings, climate-resilient planning, and environmentally sustainable urban governance.
Construction & Materials Regulation – Exploring building rules, quality
standards, and the role of key industries in shaping safe and efficient urban infrastructure.
Power, Water & Urban Utilities – Reviewing regulatory changes in power, water, and waste management to improve delivery, accountability, and city sustainability.
Themes are only indicative and not complete, there is no strict requirement that the submission needs to fall under the above heads. The entries must be analytical in nature and not descriptive.
Nature of the entries
Word limit: Articles can be anywhere between 800 to 1500 words. In case a relaxation in word count is needed, please write to us so that we can consider your request.
Use of images: Images, graphs and tables may be used wherever necessary to explain a point. Authors are encouraged to include relevant case studies, empirical data, or policy analysis to support their claims.
Abstract: An abstract no longer than 50 words, briefly describing the content of the blog, needs to be sent along with the application. Please note that the abstract should be sent separately and not as part of the main blog.
Author details: Please include a short author bio of around 100 words along with a high- resolution photo with the submission. A link to the LinkedIn Profile of the author (if present) also needs to be attached.
Co-authorship: Co-authorship of up to two authors is possible.
Formatting and linking
The text needs to be written according to these guidelines: Font - Times New Roman, Font Size - 12, Line Spacing - 1.5, Paragraph Spacing - 6 above and 6 below.
Title must be Bold and Underlined. The words of the title must be in Sentence Case, not all caps or small caps. Heading 2 must be Bold and Heading 3 must be underlined.
Margins must be one inch from all sides. No borders are allowed.
Any supporting materials or legal materials used by the author need to be mentioned through the use of hyperlinks, which need to be included in the body of the text.
Submission rules
The file needs to be only in the .doc / .docx format and must be named as “Title_CLUD Blog”.
The title must not exceed 10 words and must quickly describe the content of the blog.
Metadata of the file must not reveal any identification of the author, including name and institutional affiliation.
All entries need to be mailed to clud@nludelhi.ac.in with the subject line: "Submission for Centre for Law and Urban Development Blog Series.
