The Supreme Court has questioned the Madras High Court's move against TN ADGP in the abduction case, which is shocking.

"This is not possible for you. "This is really discouraging," the Court informed the State over the suspension of the IPS officer.

The Madras High Court's ruling ordering action against Tamil Nadu Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) HM Jayaram in relation to an abduction case shocked the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Jayaram was arrested in accordance with the High Court's ruling, and the bench of Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Manmohan strongly objected to his suspension.

Despite his release on Tuesday, the senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was suspended from his position, the court said.

The Court deemed this action to be startling and requested information from the State attorney regarding the suspension's removal.

"You get directions. He is a senior member of law enforcement. What about suspending him if he has participated in the investigation? This is not possible. This is really discouraging. The Court noted, "You receive instructions," when it scheduled the hearing for Thursday.

After the Madras High Court ordered action against Jayaram on June 16 while considering an anticipatory bail plea from Puratchi Bharatham Party MLA Poovai M Jagan Moorthy, who is accused of being involved in the kidnapping of a teenager after an intercaste marriage that the girl's family opposed, Jayaram moved to the top court.

After learning that Moorthy was reportedly avoiding arrest and absconding, the High Court ordered the MLA and the ADGP to make an in-person appearance.

After Moorthy appeared in court, the High Court decided not to order his arrest. Nonetheless, the court mandated that the police act legally against ADGP Jayaram. Jayaram was thereafter placed under arrest.

The State stated Jayaram was not detained but had joined the probe, despite the fact that his attorney informed the top court today that he had been formally arrested.

The Court then requested information from the State regarding the possibility of rescinding the suspension order.

The case concerns the alleged kidnapping of a teenage boy after his older brother, who was 23 years old, married a 21-year-old Theni woman against the desires of her family. After the boy's mother filed a police report, other people were taken into custody. According to reports, some of them admitted that Jayaram and Moorthy were also involved.

The State claims that in order to dissolve the marriage, the girl's father, Vanaraja, had gotten in touch with Maheshwari, a former female police officer. According to reports, Maheshwari brought the issue up with ADGP Jayaram, who in turn enlisted MLA Moorthy. Moorthy reportedly fled when police attempted to arrest him on June 15 after over 2,000 party cadres reportedly gathered to block the attempt.

In order to evade notice, the youngster was later dropped off close to a bus stop in the ADGP's official car, which was driven by a constable, the High Court was also told. The prosecution claims that ₹7.5 lakh in cash was found and that two of the apprehended suspects, Maheshwari and an advocate connected to Moorthy's party, had admitted their involvement and implicated the MLA.
