The Indian Air Force's Directorate of Air Veterans' Legal Cell is seeking legal assistants in Delhi and Lucknow.

 


Aspiring legal professionals have an exciting opportunity to work closely with the men and women in uniform, gain experience in all aspects of litigation, and associate with the Indian Air Force's litigation work on a variety of service and administrative law topics through the Directorate of Air Veterans. 

The quantity and location of openings 

  • There are a total of 12 openings spread over the following locations: 
  • Legal Cell: 08 Posts at DAV Subroto Park, New Delhi 
  • Positions at Legal Cell Lucknow: 04 
  • Important Requirements 

Only Indian citizens are eligible for the engagement. 
 

  • a law graduate degree from any university or institution recognized by the Bar Council of India with a minimum cumulative score of 55%. 
  • A minimum of two years' experience working as a legal assistant, research associate, or advocate in a court of law, government agency, reputable law firm, or an advocate's office; and 
  • must have completed the relevant qualifying test (if applicable) or the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). 
  • Proficiency in research and analysis, writing, and retrieving material from a variety of search engines and processes, including eSCR, Manupatra, sec Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and others. 
  • must be proficient with standard applications, such as Microsoft Office and Excel, and possess a solid understanding of computer operations. 

Disqualifications 
 

  • must not be hired or appointed on honoraria elsewhere, whether on a full-time or part-time basis; 
  • should not have been mentioned as an accused in a formal complaint or implicated in any criminal case, whether found guilty or pending trial,
  • against whom a criminal investigation is continuing. 
  • must not have been found guilty of contempt of court by any Indian court or be facing charges related to it. 
  • The Bar Council of India, the Bar Council of the State, Institutes, or any other authority must not be the subject of any disciplinary action or punishment for any wrongdoing. 

Maximum Age 

The applicant should not have reached the age of 40 on the application deadline. 
However, ex-servicemen will be eligible for a ten-year age relaxation. 

Compensation 
 

  • The monthly payment for the services provided as a legal assistant would be ₹50,000. 
  • No accommodation, TA/DA, or other kind of compensation will be accepted. 
  • The compensation will be governed by the relevant tax rules. 
  • Furthermore, during the engagement term, neither PF nor ESI is applicable.

They should also include a verification certificate from their local police station of residence and a scanned copy of all their educational certificates from matriculation onward. 

A two-year certificate of experience and two draft writ petitions on any topic related to service matters must be submitted as a separate email attachment with the title "APPLICATION FOR LEGAL ASSISTANTS AT (Name of Place)" by July 4, 2025, at the latest. 

Applications that are incomplete, received in an unreadable format without the necessary annexures, or received after July 4th, 25th, will be rejected summarily without further discussion or examination. No correspondence to this effect will be accepted at any point.
