Four Karnataka High Court judges should be transferred to other High Courts, according to the Supreme Court Collegium's recommendation.
It has been suggested that Justices Krishna Dixit, K Natarajan, Hemant Chandangoudar, and Sanjay Gowda be transferred.
Transfers of Justice Dixit to the Orissa High Court, Justice Natarajan to Kerala, Justice Chandangoudar to Madras, and Justice Gowda to Gujarat have all been suggested.
The Collegium made the conclusion during its April 15 and April 19 meetings.
The decision was made "to infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice," according to a statement released by the Collegium on the Supreme Court website.
At the Bar, the transfer, which was rumored to occur, had created a great deal of distress.
In a letter to Chief Justice of India (CJI), Sanjiv Khanna, the President of the Advocates Association (R) of the Dharwad Bench of the Karnataka High Court and the Advocates Association, Bengaluru, opposed the action.
It's interesting to note that on April 17, Justice Krishna Dixit discussed his rumored move at a hearing.
He made the lighthearted comment that the parties might have a good bench next week when a lawyer who was appearing before him asked for a date in a matter. He was implying that the case might be put before another bench shortly because of his upcoming move from the High Court.
In any case, you might have a nice bench next week as well. He grinned and continued, "You are now eliminating all bad people."
He added that it is his responsibility and that he is prepared to work anyplace.
It is a soldier's responsibility to report to his assigned location. All he needs to do is go there contentedly and work. There will be specialties for us if we visit. Are they going to take us to the Himalayas? I will also travel to the Himalayas if a High Court bench is established there. No issue.
